earthbag dome house

My friend Jeff is currently building his own earth-sheltered home and he’s looking for help to complete his house this year at Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage. The cozy earthbag dome he is building will feature an earth floor and interior clay plaster, and a living roof.

  • This looks like it was quite an interesting project. I suppose that one could use sandbags as well if sand was available. Is there an update on how this went or is going?

Jeff has no online documentation, but the house is nearly complete… All of the earthbag work is done, and the dome has been covered with soil. A domed skylight has been installed, and the interior bags have been rough plastered. It’s looking swell!
